1 Thessalonians 4:13-14

And now, dear brothers and sisters, we want you to know what will happen to the believers who have died so you will not grieve like people who have no hope. For since we believe that Jesus died and was raised to life again, we also believe that when Jesus returns, God will bring back with him the believers who have died. 1 Thessalonians  4:13-14

I chose this verse because I wanted to remind all of us that as Christians there’s hope. There’s life after death and that life eternal for those who love God. Sadness is a natural reaction to death, but as Christians we don’t need to grieve over the death of other Christians. Instead rejoice that they are with God in heaven!

You Reap What You Sow

Don’t be misled—you cannot mock the justice of God. You will always harvest what you plant.  Those who live only to satisfy their own sinful nature will harvest decay and death from that sinful nature. But those who live to please the Spirit will harvest everlasting life from the Spirit.

Another passage says if you walk after the Spirit you will not fulfill the lust of the flesh. Allow God’s Holy Spirit and His Word to guide you on a daily basis. Avoid tempting situations, and exercise self control when confronted with sin and you will avoid the painful consequences which follow. Follow after the council of God’s word and live to please Him and you will have peaceable fruit.

Be Blessed!
