Remembering Jesus

It has been three weeks since Easter Sunday… has the buzz and hype of Resurrection Sunday grown faint in your life? Have you drifted back into a life void of Jesus’ resurrection life and power? The Apostle Paul writes to the church that whatever he had gained in life he counted loss for Christ. He goes on to say that he counts ALL things as rubbish that he main gain Christ and be found in Him. The resurrection of Jesus has made a way for a right standing with God, not of our own doing by keeping rules, but through Jesus Christ. This righteousness is by God through faith in the resurrected Lord and Savior. Paul’s exhortation in his letter is that there would be a continual pressing toward Jesus, that the believer would know and experience the resurrection power and sufferings of Christ everyday day, not just on Easter Sunday.

Communion 1 Corinthians 11.23-25

We encourage you to take a moment today during your next meal and break “bread” and receive the “cup” in remembrance of Jesus. Simply spend a few minutes reflecting on His sacrifice for you and what had been accomplished by His death, burial and resurrection. As you go from the table, commit yourself to daily press toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus.
